About the Photographer
Hi, I'm Melinda!
I'm the owner and photographer behind Magnolia & Maple Photography.
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. As a little girl, I loved playing with my mom's Polaroid camera and discovering how a single photograph could preserve a moment forever. That childhood passion eventually grew into a dream of helping others capture the memories, connections, and milestones that make life so meaningful.
Originally from New York's beautiful Hudson Valley region, I moved to the Carolinas a few years ago and quickly fell in love with the warmth, charm, and natural beauty of the South. I've always felt most at peace surrounded by nature, which is why I love incorporating natural light and beautiful landscapes into my work whenever possible.
I believe the best photographs come from genuine moments, not perfect poses. Whether it's laughter among family members, a special celebration, or a quiet moment shared between loved ones, my goal is to create images that feel authentic and reflect who you truly are.

About the Studio
Magnolia & Maple Photography was born from a love of storytelling, connection, and the places that have shaped my journey. The name reflects both my roots and my new home—the maple trees of New York's Hudson Valley and the magnolias that bloom throughout the Carolinas.
I focus on documenting life as it unfolds—honest expressions, natural interactions, and the small in-between moments that often go unnoticed. Every session is approached with care and intention, with the goal of preserving not just how your day looked, but the feeling of it.
My mission is to create timeless, heartfelt images while giving you a warm, relaxed experience from start to finish. Whether we’re in a beautiful outdoor setting or celebrating a special moment in your life, I want you to feel comfortable, cared for, and completely yourself. It’s an honor to be trusted with your memories, and I hope every session feels just as meaningful as the photos we capture.
